Update: Two Thousand and Eight: "Not too shabby!"

It's 2008, Beloved Reader, and I haven't posted here since last Spring...
I have been posting at http://roseteaparty1959.spaces.live.com/
It's just a little handier, coz I use hotmail.

What's new?

Surprisingly, mostly things formerly volatile have been going smoothly; on an even keel, no less.

  • My husband and I have been living together in peace, not in pieces.

  • We have had our 27th anniversary, at which time we renewed our vows.

  • I have accomplished a lot in our finances.

  • I am closing in on the last large debt (aside from our mortgage).

  • We have made our home renovations possible and complete.

  • I hope to begin to finish my RN course FT this August. (I've been a PT student for years.)

  • My husband's widowed mom got married - for the 3rd time!

  • Our oldest nephew announced HIS engagement at that special celebration...

  • Our youngest son has achieved the age of majority where we live, and he even has an inkling of what he would like to do with his life.

Tonight, I am invited to walk in our Little Italy in the cool of the evening and eat Italian ice-cream (gelati - yum.).

Tonight, I am reflecting, and thinking to myself, "Not too shabby!".

I'm back again, Gentle Reader...
The new blogger.com set-up is a great improvement.

It's been a long and winding road since my last post.
In some ways, I am back to the beginning - to when I first started posting.

Looking back to that time, I had a deep need to vent my frustrated and wounded emotions.

Since then, it's been better and it's been worse.
Some of the circumstances are exactly the same.

I'm still standing.

Gentle Reader... It's been too long!
I have been working so hard! But now, in a sudden move that can be described as, among other things, a miracle, I am free from both the labours and the cares that weighted my heart down so heavily.

Since my last post much has happened, and my son and his bride are well wed.
Now my husbie and I are circling in on our 25th anniversary, through many dangers, toils and snares. We are planning a visit to Kananaskis, Calgary (where I was born, and where we may soon move) and gorgeous Banff.

Here I am, Gentle Reader - back again after a long absence.
Does absence indeed make the heart grow fonder?
Did you miss me?
Please let me know.

Here are some lovely orchids...

My Husbie gave me a pot of very similar ones for Valentines Day - but of the Moth Orchid species. We just had an Orchid Show where I live. I love the long bloom-life and the delicious variety and colours that orchids have become so well-known for. Spring is coming, Beautiful Spring.

Dear Gentle Reader;
It's been a while...
Work and home life have been very absorbing.

I wish I had more time!

Somehow, I've been getting email from blog readers - they invite me to visit their sites which are really commercial enterprises.

It feels like sneaky spam.

I am writing from a NEW (to me) laptop.

A bigger screen makes a difference...

But... it doesn't create more time, which I am out of!

Farewell, Reader.

Spam me not, nor use me ill.

Sympatico / MSN - Partner content
I would love to have instant confidence, Cherished Reader!
Right now I am making a sweep of the nation with my media release for my employer's special annual event.
I a often thinking,"who do I think I am, contacting the big-wigs like this?", but it's not about me - it's all about the event!

More later...

Welcome to Homemakers.com : Run for office
Dear and Darling Reader...
I once ran for School Board Trustee in my old neighbourhood.
AND...
I almost won!

Maybe I should try it again...

I surely should have my election photo taken today - I look very nice and trustworthy in a yellow cotton sweater, lace camisole, pearls and a cream print skirt.

I brought home dinner tonight from Mrs. Safeway - a whole BBQ chicken, potato wedges, a salad, gravy (surprisingly, it was offered in a can - I was expecting a little styrofoam take-out bowl) and rolls. All for just $9.99 CDN, plus extra airmiles!

Speaking of Airmiles, my Mom is going to Germany without me...
